The Nitty-Gritty: Specs and Power
Here’s the thing about these lamps: they’re only as good as what they’re made of. We use high-transmittance synthetic quartz because standard glass just eats the UV light before it even leaves the tube. When it comes to power, it’s a bit of a balancing act. Sure, cranking up the wattage gives you more photon flux, but it also turns the tube into a heater. You’ll want to double-check your ballast. If it can’t handle that initial startup surge, you’re looking at blown capacitors and a very bad afternoon.
Making It Fit Your Rig
We don’t believe in “one size fits all.” If you’ve already got a system running, we can just make the lamps fit. Whether you need a weird length, specific pin layouts, or ceramic headers, just send us your drawings. We’ll build it to match. But there is a trade-off you should know about. If we pump up the gallium content, the spectral peak gets narrower. That’s great for precision curing, but it puts more stress on the lamp. You’ll notice the intensity dip slowly over a few hundred hours. My advice? Keep a radiometer handy. It’s much easier to swap a lamp on your own schedule than to deal with a production line slowing down because your UV output tanked.
